I am Amanda Jessop, owner of Lonestar Functional Movement, a premier personal training company based in Amarillo, TX. With a focus on injury prevention and body system health. I offer personalized, balanced training sessions, including private, semi-private, held at my home here in Amarillo. I also offer Online Personal Training programs and LIVE Virtual Training Sessions.

My mission is to revolutionize personal training by not only providing effective workouts but also empowering clients with the knowledge to exercise safely, cultivate body awareness, prevent injuries, and optimize different systems in the body. I am dedicated to helping individuals lead active, balanced lives free from pain, and I consider myself a collaborative partner for my clients and community in promoting the importance of injury prevention and Nervous System Fitness

In my formative years, I grappled with self-consciousness, associating attractiveness with social acceptance and success. I also had zero self-confidence, depression, and anxiety. Exercise became my solace—a daily outlet to alleviate stress and escape the challenges of life.

Driven to extremes, I embraced vigorous weightlifting and extensive running, fixating on amplifying my strengths while neglecting my weaknesses. Unfortunately, this imbalance led to a series of overuse injuries, including stress fractures, knee mal-tracking, meniscus tears, and more.

Consequently, my depression deepened, as physical injuries deprived me of my much-needed outlet. Moreover, my negative mindset permeated other aspects of my life, affecting my career, family, and relationships. Disenchanted with quick fixes, I underwent knee surgery but yearned for answers on injury prevention rather than mere temporary solutions.

Determined, I immersed myself in studying the training methodologies of renowned functional athletic coaches like Todd Durkin, Mike Boyle, Eric Cressey, and Gray Cook with the Functional Movement Screen. By applying their injury prevention principles to my own fitness journey, I uncovered the paramount lesson: Body Awareness. I realized that pain signals and improper movement, prompted me to refine my technique and maintain a pain-free existence. Playing to my strengths, and working on my weaknesses.

In 2016, I was diagnosed with late stage Lyme Disease. Training took a back seat for a while, and during this time I studied every system in the body and how to heal it. What I learned was astronomical, and I knew that these healing techniques would benefit EVERYONE to help prevent diseases. I now include these modalities in my training sessions.

My personal voyage, defined by overcoming setbacks, acquiring prevention strategies, and cultivating body awareness, forms the essence of Lonestar Functional Movement. Now, it’s your turn to embark on this transformative path.

I hold a degree in Physical Education from Florida State University. I also worked in corporate America for many years, and quickly discovered my true passion lay in educating individuals on how to improve the way they move. Consequently, I committed my career to helping others achieve their fitness goals through coaching. As a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist, Functional Movement Systems Specialist, and NeuroFit Trainer, I am equipped with the knowledge to not only help you reach your fitness goals, but also optimize your nervous system.

In my current role, I specialize in educating individuals on efficient exercise techniques tailored to their specific goals, while mitigating the risk of injury. Nervous system and lymphatic system exercises are included to further support their goals. I offer private and semi-private training in person and online that draw upon principles derived from the functional movement systems.

Employing a foundation of balanced athletic training principles, I meticulously assess, motivate, educate, and guide my clients with the core objective of enhancing their overall health and fitness. My unwavering focus lies in optimizing your fitness levels while diligently minimizing the likelihood of injuries.
